Religious situation in Kazakhstan is characterized as stable.
As of April 20, 2017, 3,679 religious associations were registered in the country (2,570 Muslims, 333 Orthodox, 85 Catholic, 668 Protestant, 7 Jewish and 17 others), representing 18 denominations.
Currently 495 missionaries.
In quantitative terms, among the registered missionaries, representatives of Catholicism predominate (238). 87 missionaries represent orthodoxy.
81% of the citizens of the country consider themselves as believers, 19% are atheists and agnostics. Of the believers, only 14% refer themselves to practicing believers, and about 70% relate themselves to moderate (non-practicing) believers.
The main types of religious self-identification of citizens are associated with Islam and Christianity. From year to year there is a decrease in the number of violations in the sphere of religions.
In 2013, 282 administrative offenses were identified, in 2014 - 153, in 2015 - 120, for 2016 revealed 119 facts.
